' It's Like Porno for your ears! Reviewer: Ryan Marks I had bought the band's first E.P (Elevated Descent) and loved it. The E.P was a great start. All I could then do is wait for the album. I bought it on the release date, I had to have the album, I needed the new songs. So it finally came to the moment of listening. Verdict... FANTASTIC! I loved every track on the album. It was the only album that I listened to for months, it was great. However, the album does have one major flaw... It finishes. (I think that it is time for SBA to make a new album!) So, to review: If this album were a smell it would be sweet, if it were a taste it would be chocolate, if it were an object it would feel smooth, it was a sight it would stunn you. But it's a sound, it has to be Sweet Black Angels!'

GIG: Sat 21-Jan-06 - Mr Kyps, Poole- Dorset (review this gig)
' Great support Mr Kyps, Poole on Sat 21st Jan 06 Being a regular at Mr Kyps and big fan of Bon Jovi I knew the night would be good, fortunately I arrived early enough to see the support band Sweet Black Angels who impressed me very much. On arrival I noticed the usual merchandise stand by the entrance but oddly it wasn't for the main band but the support act - I had a quick look and you could tell these guys meant business, then the room erupted as the lads came on stage. At first glance you could see they were taken back by the turn out this early on in the eve but once started they seemed comfortable and loved the crowd's response. They performed a very tight set all be it only 40mins (I suppose you have to start somewhere) full of good catchy tunes which had a solid rock drive behind them provided by the rhythm section allowing the lad on guitar to wander free. A very good night topped of by By Giovi who where solid as ever and musically perfect to the real thing. '

GIG: Thu 12-Jan-06 - Phoenix, Plymouth- Devon (review this gig)
'I did my first night back at the Phoenix since the new year on Thursday and everything went well on the night, from a sound point of view anyway, no-one actually turned up to the gig, so each band played to the other bands, and staff, which is a great shame as all three bands (Sweet Black Angels, Mary Jane, and Mendez) played brilliantly, especially Sweet Black Angels who covered Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols and a unique version of Drunken Sailor, I enjoyed it despite the lack of people; at least it gave me the opportunity to grab a SBA album! THESE BOYS REALLY ROCK!!! '
