GIG: Thu 21-Oct-04 - The Phoenix, Plymouth (review this gig)
'Headlining band for the night were Exeter based Sweet Black Angels, who impressed me massively last time they played at the Phoenix, and this time, I was impressed even further. They have more stage presence than ever before, really looking at home on the live stage, they are one of the bands out there with natural talent, making everything look so effortless, and the showmanship is brilliant. Musically they impressed me even further, with their dual lead guitar sections, and excellent riff based playing, the overall sound mix was pretty much flawless, although there was a drumming error during the first track, although I was informed that they haven’t played live together for 4 months, as they are recording a new CD. Vocally, they were incredibly tight, with Scott on lead vocals having a slightly gravely, almost Liam Gallagher-esque type of voice, the vocal mix is completed with by Dan and Smoo on backing vocals, creating a very warm and inviting sound, that combined with their technical playing ability makes for a top quality act, these guys are possibly the best southwest indie act at the moment.'

GIG: Thu 24-Jun-04 - Bicton College, East Budleigh (review this gig)
'well i see noone else has reviewed this gig so i will have the honours, what can i say it rocked the guys showed all the students the way to do it! an amazing set except for the slight problem smoo had, his strings broke half way through a song but like the true pro he is he carried on an to be honest it didn't sound too bad! chappers as usual was venting his frustration, my only gripe was that mark's bass couldn't be heard as well as i would have liked. but overall a tremendous gig! u guys should come back and play the summer ball again'
